Nov. 18 - Rep. Betty Sutton (D-OH) has been appointed by House Democratic Caucus Chairman John Larson to co-chair the Congressional Task Force on Job Creation. The task force will focus on bringing new and innovative ideas to the table that will create jobs and restore the promise of the middle class. The House is working to pass a job-creation package before the end of the year. Rep. Rep. Sutton Announces $25,000 to Support Akron Art Museum Jobs

Nov. 17 - Rep. Betty Sutton (D-OH) announced that the Akron Art Museum has been awarded a $25,000 Arts Jobs Preservation grant to preserve the full-time status of two positions at the Akron Art Museum: the second-in-command security officer's position, as well as a communications position. Funding for this grant comes from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and has been awarded by the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). The OAC awarded a total of $305,000 in federal stimulus money to 21 organizations in Ohio. In addition to the funding from the Recovery Act, Arts Midwest contributed $90,000. In all, the funding is expected to save 25 jobs. | More
